Bringing Telemedicine to Mexico | Dr. Gustavo Vázquez

When Dr. Vázquez told us that telemedicine was pretty much unheard of in Mexico and that he was one of the first early adopters of this technology, we knew we had to have him write us a blog post about his experience.

Hello readers! I’m Dr. Gustavo Vázquez, from Mexico. I have 6 years of experience in many areas of medicine such as general consultation, emergency room, hospitalization, aesthetic surgery and hemodialysis. All these areas had me all over Mexico during each stage of my clinician experiences. I have been in many cities of Mexico such as Tapachula, Tuxtla, Mexico City, San Luis Potosí, Monterrey and Ciudad Juárez/El Paso; right now you can find me at my half-home, Mexico City (I´m originally from Tapachula, Chiapas).

The last 3 years I have been looking for new technologies that could help us as Clinicians to give patients better and faster support wherever they go. It would not  matter if they are in China or in Chiapas and then they decided to go on holidays to  Angola. With telemedicine I could provide you medical attention.

I know that in other countries telemedicine is a regular way for medical providers. But in Mexico it is not normal or heard of. I have been working with a few patients from other cities using telemedicine platforms looking to provide them the best of my attention and service. My practice in telemedicine has been only the last few months. The problem until now, has been that other telemedicine platforms didn´t provide me the tools for the correct function for consultations. That’s why I have been looking for another telemedicine platform, and now I found allows me special features, like a waiting room for my patients, easy communication with video consultation but also a chat, scanner for files and prescriptions, and security for my patients data and personal information. With all features and tools, I think you and I can feel better and comfortable with a teleconsultation. It doesn't matter if I’m in a congress at London and you are in Chiapas looking for me, get and I will be there for you. This kind of ideas change our world, so we are able to reach you in any part of the world any time you need it.

We, the clinicians, are making this decision today, to transform medicine into telemedicine in order to reach any patient no matter what. If you are a Physician, try right now and start telemedicine today, you will find it really amazing.

If there is anything I can do for you, feel free to write me at

I hope you found this interesting. Sincerely,

Dr. Gustavo Vázquez De Gyves.
